George John Groft 1887-1889

I remember Myrtle Mary, aka Mammaw, Staub from the reunions and playing cards on an occasional Sunday at the Staub household. I also vaguely remember her sister Violet. Now that I have researched your family, I wish now I had been more inquisitive. This is something I hear all the time when I volunteer.

Myrtle and Violet had two siblings, Emma Marguerite and George John. I wrote about Emma in a previous posting. Recently learning about George John's burial location came from wanting to learn about John Lawrence Staub Sr.'s siblings. I consulted with the church office and they found that his remains are in Section R under Sacred Heart Basilica.

As for cause of death, Pennsylvania's death certificates were made public as of 1906. Mortality schedules ended in 1880. My options to consider is a page from a family Bible, going to the Adams County Historical Society hoping to find a cause of death record there, and research through Newspapers.com, which is more doable and might provide me with an answer.

In the meantime, researchers that I have met all say the same thing....I wish I had asked questions when my family members were living.
